My Mama taught me:
www.clker.com |
"If you're bored you're boring."
So I climbed trees and read lots of stories.
"Never hate a family because of one person."
So I try to understand each story.
"Nothing happens if you do nothing."
So I follow my heart.
Love for Her, is inevitable.

What a great tribute to your mom. I love that: "If you're bored, you're boring."
ReplyDeleteI'm always telling my kids that bordem only exists where there is no imagination or creativy.
Thanks Chuck, sometimes I feel guilty that I'm not finding more imaginative or creative things for the kids to do... but they always find something fun to do - when they have 'nothing' to do
DeleteLove these lessons- my mom taught me to be strong and overcome challenges.
ReplyDeleteLucky you Kate. That's a lot to thank her for
DeleteLovely! :-) My mum still tells me that talking too much will never do me good... but I can't get around to stop myself! ! 😁😁
ReplyDeleteSome lessons take longer than others... but I prefer a person to talk too much rather than not enough.
DeleteBtw, loved your profile post, Ida! :-)

DeleteHey Ida,
ReplyDeleteThose are pearls of wisdom from your mother. Gems to treasure. My mother told me notto believe the negative hype. She was right.
Great post! Thanks for sharing! LOL
Gary :)
Like diamonds in the sky :) Mothers are rarely wrong in the lessons they try to teach - she sounds like a wise woman.
DeleteMine stressed patience and forgiveness, lessons that I'm still trying to figure out for myself.
ReplyDeleteHi William I thought of you and your loss as I wrote this post. Perhaps forgiving yourself for a lack of patience is a good place to start... :)
DeleteSuch nuggets of wisom, thankyou for sharing them. One of the most important lessons my mum taught me was to have faith and believe that God has a plan for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sunday... I just feel like singing George Michaels.. 'Oh you gotta faith' :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful and love-filled post for Mama. The love beyond all loves, I suppose. Thanks for sharing those pearls of wisdom she shared with you.

I guess the best way to describe love between a mother and child is ... love. Thanks Beloo

I would have disappointed both our mothers... I've made a few notable fashion faux pas in my life :)
DeleteMoms always know best. Love the 'climb a tree or read lots of stories' line. Makes me miss my Mama. :)

I like to think children have a thing or two they can teach their parents too...
DeleteAlways wear clean underwear. Also she taught me an appreciation of good food.
ReplyDeleteNice one Jo. You are making me appreciate food with your theme this year Jo...
DeleteGreat post Ida .. my mother had so many lessons to pass on to her brood. Believe in yourself I guess was the one that comes immediately to mind -
ReplyDeleteGarden of Eden Blog
Probably the most important lesson of all... Thanks Susan. I'm still learning off my mum.
DeleteNot very warm ones: never give anyone the satisfaction of knowing they've hurt you and always act like you know.
ReplyDeleteTough ones for me to carry out.
I can see how these can be useful tools at the right times - In many ways they're what we draw from when calling on grace.
DeleteHead up...always. Even when you're sad and especially when you're scared. Great post and great memory sparks too!
ReplyDeleteThe perspective is clearer with your head up - thanks Robyn, in it's simplicity it is powerful.
DeleteTo always do my best. And to sing if you're sad. There was always music, love, and laughter in our home!
ReplyDeleteMy Mum knew the lyrics to so many songs. 'Just do your best' still rings in my ears... how lovely Millie, thanks for sharing.
