About Me

My Photo
Amongst other things, this is a love story.... the theme changes occasionally... this year it is fitness and learning to love yourself.

Insert interesting title here... #tomorrowland

Insert interesting post here.

Followed by a majestic photo.

Present interesting points with humour and wisdom.

Conclude with a philosophical or broader outlook.

Ask an empathic question that reflects my own struggles and/or understanding.

Acknowledge potential comments that will either affirm values and beliefs or simply provide a connection with people you care about and haven't forgotten.

Smile, remember that misery, confusion and sensory overload is better than denial.

Sometimes a day at the beach turns into a summer holiday, other times it just means sand in your sandwich.

End with an original and unexpected quote, that may or may not be relevant. Smile again.

Escape to Tomorrowland (online) for the weekend. Sing, dance, burn some calories and replenish the rhythm...

http://www.tomorrowlandradio.com/  ... Ministry of Sound UK  can put you in the mood before the live show kicks off from Midday til 1am, Belgium time.

You tube Channel link...  a little annoying with all the ads, but fun to watch while you listen live on one of the many radio stations all around the world.  Have you ever been to a dance or music festival? Some of my most magical memories are of dancing with friends and strangers...

Now the weekend has come to an end here's a few links that have been published around the net.. but if you google tommorowland 2013 you will find more...

one of my favourites... Armin Van Buuren.. I saw him do a live set for 9 hours in Melbourne a few years ago... it was incredible

here's a good list of several other artists performances...

  1. I've not been to a dance or music festival. I have a vision of what I think a music festival must be like after reading Maria: My Own Story by Maria von Trapp, and how Maria and Georg held week-long music camps on their mountain in Vermont after they immigrated. Non-stop singing and fellowship? Sign me up! :-)

    1. Ellen, that too sounds like a lot of fun too, and in many ways the spirit is the same at Electronic music festivals, right through to folk festivals. The music varies but the healing power of music and togetherness is the same.

    1. Thanks Sylvia, like mot festivals all walks of life are celebrated... we've come a long way from woodstock which is the historic ideal... both amazing AND fun... a global gathering of that magnitude has many benefits.

  3. Greetings Ida,

You have been missed and unfortunately, that link is now offline. My timing is somewhat off.

Still, as you process your ideals within your posting, I wish to say that the photo inspires. Your words dance and sing. Which means, it's a positive outcome.

Be well and keep smiling, Ida.

    Gary :)

    1. Hi Klahanie, I was traipsing around your site yesterday, now I regret not commenting (yet) but as I glance up at my several open tabs, I see your page still open and on my to do list, congratulations on having a blog hop created in your honour, very entertaining. You, of course, are one of the not forgottens I refer to and I am so pleased you popped in. 'The goal was a positive outcome so thank you for affirming that, also...the dead links are duly noted so I have posted a few new ones of the recorded sets, for future visitors or in fact you if you choose to return here... Best wishes

  4. Hey Ida, you have been missed. Happy to see you here. I must confess to being a Tomorrowland virgin of sorts. I had to google it for info more than event content. I have some issues with music in general ...it tends to ruminate and bounce around my brain in an almost annoying sort of way. I am always reluctant to speak of it as it makes me seem a bit the Neanderthal to not really enjoy it that much. Oh well... None the less...happy to see/read from you!

    1. Hi Zoe, I totally agree with music just being noise or an annoying distraction sometimes... and it really surprised me just how much I can enjoy really hard dance music sometimes... emphasise the sometimes. In all honesty I could not just click the clip I posted and enjoy it if I wasn't in the mood - in fact there is nothing more irritating than doof doof music when you are not in the mood or worse when someone else is playing it, but given the right environment and circumstances - boom - and suddenly it's forget the world and your troubles just dance time. Even chill music can give me the shits sometimes, the sounds of silence are enough of a symphony to keep my senses entertained - there 'ain't' nothin' neanderthal about that :) So nice to read from you... I'm setting myself for a daily short post in August so hopefully we'll see a bit more of each other...
